The Christ Church Grammar School Library department encompasses two separate library spaces. The Preparatory Library caters for boys in PK to Year 6 and the Senior Library predominantly for boys in Years 7 to 12 and for staff and community members.

Students are able to use the Senior Library before and after school, at recess and lunch, and with a teacher during class times. Prep students can use the Prep Library before school, at lunch and with a teacher during class times.

The library has many different work and leisure areas for student use. Both library spaces offer areas that are multi-purpose use, for example group work, reading, game playing and more.

The Library department provides a range of activities and experiences for all students.

Library hours:

Preparatory School

Monday – Friday 8.10am – 3.30pm

Senior School

Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 6.00pm

6.30pm – 8.00pm   (boarders)

Wednesday Closed at recess
Friday 8.00am – 4.00pm

Students and staff can access all library resources by going to the Senior Library Homepage or the Preparatory Library Homepage. The Homepages provides access to the catalogue, databases, eBooks, referencing tools and much more.

Library vision

The Christ Church Grammar School Library empowers students to be independent, engaged learners who feel valued and included. By building partnerships with students, staff, parents and the wider community we broaden knowledge and skills, and inspire individuals to explore their world through learning and creative expression.

Borrowing

Borrowing in the Preparatory Library is determined by a student’s age.

In the Senior Library students can, at any time, borrow:

  • 8 fiction books.
  • 4 non-fiction books.
  • 4 graphic novels, comics, manga.
